Drawlloween Day 5: Werewolf (v2)

A second take on my werewolf picture. I think I like this version better.

Drawlloween Day 5: Werewolf

By total chance, Warren Zevon came on while I was drawing this, so I threw in a reference to round out the picture.

Sunset, Moonrise

The sunset and the moon rose within 5 minutes of each other. It was a pretty sight.

Moonrise

I tried filming the moonrise tonight. The first shot is a little blurry (wide aperture), but the second shot is sharper. There's a little camera shake here and there too, thanks to a wobbly tripod, but overall it was a good experiment. Just need to wait until the moon rises just after dusk and try again. A couple of days ago would have been perfect.

I decided to try shooting some video with my new camera, as so far I haven't really done much with it. So last night I set up a tripod and filmed the moon as it rose in the sky. I'm quite happy with the results given that I only had a 300mm lens.

Best viewed in HD to see the detail in the crates:

The Sky Tonight

Another clear night with the heavens on display, so I took some photos. The Moon, Venus, Jupiter and Pleiades (the Seven Sisters) are visible.

Moonrise

I noticed the moon low in the sky last night, and seeing as how today was a relatively clear day I got ready to watch the moon come up again. The thin layer of cloud made it extra interesting.

Moonday

A quick drawing in celebration of man landing on the moon 40 years ago today!

Lauren in Colour

Just added a quick bit of colour to this strip for an avatar/display picture. Wasn't sure whether to make her a pinky-orange or more of an aqua colour...

Lunar Eclipse

Apart from a cloudy spell, it was a fantastic night for a lunar eclipse! As the bright surface disappears behind shadow, the orange/red colouring begins to appear. Someone described it as being like Mars thousands of times closer to the Earth. A fair description I think. Here's some cropped & shrunk photos I took:

EDIT: Forgot to add this, someone asked what camera I used. These were taken with my Minolta Z5 digital camera. 12x optical zoom really is a treat for stuff like this!
