Ben

The weekly sketch jam has been a bit quiet lately, most members have been busy, but I shall try to get something of my own done this week for the sake of keeping up my drawing, once today's work is done. In the meantime, here's a doodle. Maybe a rival London 2012 Mascot? I don't know. But it's iconic, chibi and has a catchy name. Not that I'm at all against those terrifying monsters Wenlock and Mandeville...

Trooper's Helmet

I was always concerned that Trooper's backwards cap came across too retro. I don't know why I never tried giving her a colander before. Totally what an 8-year-kid playing space marines might do.

Lyle Coloured

I was cropping a panel from this comic for a display picture and decided to give it a quick spot of colour.

The Ringmaster's got webbed Feet...

...And that's all just a little to peculiar.

Character/prop design for a friend's animation.

Summer in the City

I liked this sketch so thought I'd draw it a little nicer. I'm experimenting with rendering techniques too.

Summer in the City

I wish I had the confidence to draw in my sketchbooks more rather than doing all my doodles in MS Paint. I can't wait for them to get a drawing programme on one of those e-books...

Animation

Sitting on a couch watching a DVD felt like a waste of time, so I had to do something. Ended up scribbling all the main characters from my year's animated films. All sketched from memory except Arron's and Damian's characters which I had to have a peek at online. I don't want to see any original art now for fear of seeing all the mistakes I've made...

Trooper Updates

Some updates from the film I'm currently working on. Some stills, concept art, the works.

Rob's been doing the 3D modelling for me based on my designs. I'll update with some better pics soon, these are pretty early.

El Family

I got thinking about Elwood and the his siblings and before I knew it I was drawing this. Drawn with a brush pen and grey markers. It's amazing how fast this appeared on the piece of paper in front of me at this time in the morning after a few glasses of wine...

Wouldn't mind turning this into a complete piece in the future. I'm also looking forward to exploring Elwood's two other sisters and his mum in the strip...

3D Sock Troll

Paul's christened his new blog with some pics of the Sock Troll I deisgned which he's modelled for his film. Check them out here!

Lauren

A little MS Paint drawing of Lauren, aka Nessie. Just working out what she looks like below the water.

Lauren in Colour

Just added a quick bit of colour to this strip for an avatar/display picture. Wasn't sure whether to make her a pinky-orange or more of an aqua colour...

Nessie

Some doodles I did getting ready for the current storyline in Elwood. You may know her as Nessie, but she prefers to be called Lauren.

Sock Troll

I've been doing some character designs for a fellow animator's project. I've just seen one of his animation tests, and it's awesome! So weird to see something I've drawn become a three-dimensional moving thing.

Fornax

Mostly marker pens and a touch of coloured pencil. This is the second character from a work in progress who'll be starring in his own animated short for my course.
