I've been trying to draw more, but apparently software is a new creative block. So here's a screenshot of something I was working on last night before I lost the file.

One benefit of this was when trying to open the file again I remembered I'd installed the new version of Mischief. Hopefully it doesn't break like this, because I really like sketching in it.

I thumbnailed it like this with a mind of drawing it sometime in the future, but I ended up just going straight in Photoshop right after.

Ceefax

I hear that Ceefax is being closed down today, which is a real end of an era for people my age. As far back as I can think, it's always been there. And for nearly all that time it always felt so delightfully retro. So simple. In terms of art and design I've always felt you can get really nice results with a very limiting medium. It's a fun task to see what you can create with only a few colours and a tiny resolution. I'm sure this is one of the reasons people still enjoy creating pixel art. There's a real challenge to it, to get across the required detail in such a small picture and still have it read well...

But I digress. Here's a picture I did. I even drew the text.

After reading about the Star Wars Blu-Ray release I got to thinking that some of my own work is not as good as it could be, and I decided to go back and revise some comics that just didn't work as visuals alone.






I'm sure the fans are going to love it.
