Fornax Chemica

A possible style for my film poster.

I'll moan on about fake lens flares in films and games, but God help me, they're too pretty and fun to make (with some emphasis on make, not filter > lens flare :) ).

Trooper Ships

Blueshift Turnaround from Mark Haldane on Vimeo.

Pirate Vessel Turnaround from Mark Haldane on Vimeo.

I did the designs, textures and rendering. Rob did the modelling, so a big thanks to you Rob! The film would be rubbish without the 3D!

You can see more of the ships and the film here.

Ghost Space Pirates

I was mucking about the with flag emblem for this and came up with something I really liked.

Red

Decided to do more than just graphite on white paper. So the first sketch didn't turn out too well, but it warmed me up.

Trooper Blog

So! I've decided to finally sort out the Trooper production blog I began long ago and start using it as the main place to keep a record of my film, instead of using a subcategory in this blog. It also means I can post more of the little developments on the film that I would like to keep a record of but wouldn't feel the need to share on this blog. So if you're interested you can follow my progress here:

I'll still post some of more interesting efforts here however, as this is what this blog is for.

The Blueshift

The fruits of tonight's labour. I'll need to look at it tomorrow with fresh eyes but I'd say it's pretty much finished. Just need to finish off the pirate ship and we can start animating!

Tempus fugit

I was glancing at my archive and I can't believe how long ago I started it. I feel like I only started posting stuff recently, but it began in 2006 - meaning it has now spanned 5 years of this millennium. 3 full years of posting and some change. Interestingly, 2007 and 2008 each have 64 posts. How even! 2009 falls behind by 11 posts. I wonder how 2010 will do.
