Markers

I'm too tired and frustrated to draw anything properly, so this sketch is pretty wonky. I just wanted to give the markers I bought today a quick test. I shall need to get some more for a better tonal range, defo' some darker ones. (I'd bought a black but I returned it because it was already used to the point of depletion.)

(This a character for a comic idea I've had on the back burner for a while.)

King Cobra

These aren't fantastic photos, but they get the point across. The product design guys came up with various packaging designs, and then we (the graphic designers) get given one, and set the task of designing the surface graphics. So here's the design with my graphics applied!

Lunar Eclipse

Apart from a cloudy spell, it was a fantastic night for a lunar eclipse! As the bright surface disappears behind shadow, the orange/red colouring begins to appear. Someone described it as being like Mars thousands of times closer to the Earth. A fair description I think. Here's some cropped & shrunk photos I took:

EDIT: Forgot to add this, someone asked what camera I used. These were taken with my Minolta Z5 digital camera. 12x optical zoom really is a treat for stuff like this!

King Cobra

Part of my design for my current college project. The faux gold effect is for the screen only, for the final print ideally there would be gold foil blocking... Or whatever the term is. Basically, it'd be shiny. A metallica matt shine, or a full reflective shine, I haven't yet decided. The logo for this product has a fully reflective gold part.

Hot Colour

I'm meant to be working right now. So obviously, I'm mucking about. I took my camera out, took a photo of my hot chocolate, dumped it into Photoshop and out came this. It reminds me of the Bravia advert.

Have we been seen?

A friend and I were at a local coffee shop today, and I snagged a photo of her shadow. She then photographed my shadow in kind. Here's a photoshop merge:

Elwood, doing something real dog-like

Elwood's making a cameo appearance in something soon. Here's the pic I drew for it, with a quick Photoshop-job background to make it a little more pretty.
Someone suggested I do a one-off Elwood strip like this, which I might. For fun. I'd have to go get some photos at the park again, but from a dog's eye level. Elwood doesn't quite fit in here due to his size and position in that respect.

Elwood stuff, Emoting through shades

A few sketches of Lyle reacting to stuff, and Tracker posing. Her pose there went into today's comic.

Concept Sketches

Some concept sketches for a project I've been thinking about for a while. There's an urban decay, run down, worn out, disused theme going on.
The one in the bottom-right isn't finished yet, I'll upload it again when I can be bothered rendering all that stonework.

I've now started taking photos of stuff like this... There's a subtle serenity to some abandoned, forgotten, worn out locations. Maybe it's because no-one ever goes there. Maybe it's the plant life in some of the places I've been. Maybe it's just me, what do you think?
