This started as a joke but has turned out to be one of my favourite pieces of digital art. I wish it was totally original and not a parody now.

Acoustic Energy

An experiment in Photoshop with one of my life drawings. I'm thinking about doing a set of these, either with some drawings that weren't time restricted. Not to totally loose the scratchy look, I like that. I might try scratching it on a photograph, the effect reminds me of that.

An animated version of this isn't out of the question either...

Our excercise here was to draw dancers in constant motion, so these are the quickest of the quick sketches to capture poses.

The image quality of all my life drawing pictures here is terrible; I don't have a big enough scanner and I'm photographing them in poor lighting conditions.

I liked the squirrel I drew in a recent Elwood comic so I'm thinking of working him into another strip. These below were the first designs, I've since moved his eyes more to the sides of his head (as above and in the profile view below).

I'm working on this project right now and it's giving me a chance to play with cartoon backgrounds. I didn't give a lot of thought to it until the end of my previous cartoon but I'm very concious this time.

A few sketches of a character for an project I'm pondering. The first few sketches actually, so they each differ a bit. Early design modelled a bit after a favourite actor of mine.

I started keeping notes for this project in a note book (or jotter if you will) so I end up doodling ideas as I go along. That, and a desire to keep all my ideas in the one place means that these drawings are all done grid ruled paper.

The design for a mate's Birthday card. There's a story behind this alter ego which I won't bother going into, but I will mention he's applying to the police force, so it's extra suiting. I'm not too happy with the hair, but after many redraws I gave up and stuck with this version. Inked & coloured in Photoshop.
